SENSORY MOTOR skills FOR THE Manual therapist
SENSORY MOTOR SKILLS FOR THE MANUAL THERAPIST
Reason for taking this course:
In our manual therapy world we often look at a person in segments. If a shoulder is a problem, then stretches and strengthening exercises are given. Sometimes this works, but often the patient needs to do the rehab daily to maintain any benefit.
The big problem with this approach is that it doesn’t address underlying issues of movement habits. Nor does it broaden the view to movement/postural contributors to the pain issue.
I feel RMTs, Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, and other Manual Therapists have the skill set to effectively use a more functional approach to rehab to help their patient’s repetitive patterns of movement. With more effective homecare, therapists will have better results.
This course is NOT a training to become a Feldenkrais Practitioner. It is a course based on the teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais.
The course will provide a personal learning experience and is an introduction to the Feldenkrais Method® approaches.
This course you will:
